About AI Center UPB

Our Mission

Advance research and innovation in Artificial Intelligence that is human-centered, trustworthy, safe and secure, to transcend the framework and limitations of current AI technology, and to develop human resources specialized in AI by evolving top-level research activities in synchronization with industry and society challenges, with a view to create a tangible socio-economic impact for businesses, citizens and the society.

Objectives

Develop research and innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with the view of creating human-centered AI-based systems and applications
Conduct interdisciplinary research, connecting AI with other disciplines
Build AI-based applications as a response to real world needs of industry and other sectors, and achieve technological transfer
Develop human resources by offering AI education for future specialists in AI, training for competences in using AI applications, and understanding of AI by the general public
Reinforce cooperation with leading universities, research centers, and companies from Romania and abroad in the domain of AI, and establish academy-industry partnership as a win-win scenario
Promote and implement an approach to open data and open science in AI
Consider the ethical aspects of AI and the implications of large-scale use of AI on the society
